Two days in Athens

We arrived by ferry most of the way through Sunday, with just enough time left to find some street gyros and wander around our hotel's neighborhood. Then we crashed good and early.  Monday morning brought us to the Temple of Zeus, wanderings in the tighter neighborhoods on the slopes of the Acropolis (like Anafiotika), AND ... A lot of clock watching by Eleanor.  For this was the day we reunited Eleanor and Sabina. We capped the day with a view from Mt. Lycabettus, of the sun setting on the city and the Acropolis.
View across Athens from a nook in Anafiotika. And then we meet Sabina and Collin!  They are with us for the rest of our time in Greece.
That's the Acropolis behind them...see?...

On Tuesday we headed out early-ish for our visit to the Acropolis. When it really heated up, we descended the eastern slope and visited the beautiful, approachable, new museum. Then we found some ice cream and did some comfortable strolling.  That pretty much finished off Athens for us.  I enjoyed this city much more than I expected too!
